I’m giving the gift but don’t have any photos. how does that work?
ask the parents for a few photos — three is already enough. or give the gift as a promise and make the book together when you visit the new family; that’s a lovely moment in itself.
isn’t a book too early for a newborn?
the book grows with them: right now it’s a keepsake of the first days, later it’s the bedtime story about how it all began. choose the toddler age setting and we keep the text short and soft.
can the big brother or sister be in the story?
yes, that’s the best part. if they’re in the photos, they get a role of their own — as the big helper, for example.

yes — though “boys’ book” is really the wrong word here. we draw the book from the baby’s real photos, so no standard blue theme involved. the story is about him: his name, his face, his family.
